The movements on this album are from the opera Kimen, for soloists, choir and strings, by Magnar Åm (composed in 2017) with libretto by Oda Radoor, based on Tarjei Vesaas’ novel Kimen (the Seed), used as independent concert pieces, without song soloists and choir.
The opera was commissioned by Telemark Chamber Orchestra and Musikteatret SAUM, with support from The Norwegian Composers’ Fund / Det norske komponistfond, Arts Council Norway / Kulturrådet and the Fritt Ord Foundation / Stiftelsen Fritt Ord.
